Chateau De Carsix
Chateau De Carsix is a stunning wedding venue located in Normandy, just a couple of hours from the channel crossing. I met Rajan and Janaki via an amazing wedding planner Yana
We clicked straight away and it seemed we were on the same page right from the beginning. A vision of booking a destination wedding photographer who can also shoot in a natural and relaxed way was something my couple have in mind. I was more than excited to travel with them and be the part of their history in making. If you are looking to book a trusted, destination wedding photographer please get in touch. All my documents and passports are ready to go on another journey. You may want to click here and see what’s in my bucket list for destination weddings.
Preparation
I arrived two days early, trying to plan the journey and be super cautious in case a delay happened. Whether it would be my car, a ferry, train or whatever transport. Its something quite obvious but it needs to be stressed that the time matters a lot. The wedding morning I was early again trying to capture the guest arriving at the chateau
It was a beautiful overcast day and the morning was the most relaxing – Perhaps having Yana there who had her hands on was one massive advantage. She seriously had everything under control and I was more than impressed how she organised things. All the beautiful decorations were made by super talented Sarah and her partner Guillaume from And Then We Got Married.
Janaki and Rajan were in a separate room getting ready but they did see each other earlier having things slightly unusual. The family and friends started arriving, you could feel the buzz taking on to the point the whole space was filled with people. How convenient the Chateau has so much room for large parties. You MUST contact them if you are planning your destination wedding and are having a rather large party. They have great facilities indoor and outdoor and both spaces are absolutely wonderful.
The “I do”
The aisle never ended. I was witnessing a true glory of the walk down the aisle by bridesmaids and their beautiful lace parasols. Walking underarm with the groomsmen in a line, they definitely added up the spice. Following them, there was Janaki and her dad. The guests were waiting in impatience to see her minutes after the bridesmaids and groomsmen parade. The whole place stopped breathing for a moment when she appeared in the door.
The “I do” was nice, funny and short enough and few more surprises happened after all. The bouquet throw, the champagne tower and our lovely session with smoke bombs to add even more colour to the day.
The Party
The reception drinks happened in front of the Chateau. The 200 chairs were removed from the ceremony and 100 Maison Michele hats flew in the air. The chit chat, the drinks, the canapes and the fun just started.
We went for a few photos with the couple but were rushed to go in for the speeches and food. The most moving yet funny speeches of the season. I hope you can see the vibe on the photos and enjoy scrolling through the crazy boogie and sparkles shots.
